Farooq Sattar agrees to visit party's Bahadurabad office
Farooq Sattar will visit MQM-P Bahadurabad office today to meet members of the Rabita Committee.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) chief Farooq Sattar will visit MQM-P Bahadurabad office today (Friday) to meet members of the party s Rabita Committee.
Farooq Sattar was convinced to visit Bahadurabad office and meet Rabita Committee members by Kishwar Zahra who called on him on Thursday evening.
Speaking on the occasion, Farooq Sattar said that we had taken the party out of a crisis before and the issue of Rabita Committee is not complicated and will be resolved amicably.
Earlier in Thursday, Sattar and Rabita Committee factions arrived at the office of ECP in Karachi with their respective Senate candidates where the two groups mildly talked with one another. Faisal Sabzwari even cried while putting his head on Sattar s shoulder.
Later on, Sattar did not arrive at the Bahadurabad office to meet the opposing group and even refused to meet their delegation. Sattar had agreed upon chairing a meeting at party’s temporary Bahadurabad headquarters.
MQM-P leader Faisal Sabzwari warned of bad consequences if the disagreements continued. He admitted that the matters have not yet been resolved, expressing happiness as Sattar agreed to chair party meeting at Bahadurabad.
He stressed that they will not let the disintegration happen, and highlighted that it is not right to stick to the wrongdoing.
On the other hand, Sattar claimed that the party faced more damage in the last four days than during the reports of merger with PSP. He pointed out that the convener or party head should be allowed to make decisions in certain matters.
Both the groups will put forward their nominated names and will finalize them with mutual agreement, Farooq Sattar said during media talk.
His nominated candidates include Kamran Tessori, Ali Raza Abidi, Hassan Feroz, Ahmed Chinoi, Kishwar Zehra, Mangla Sharma, Sanjay Parvani, Farhan Chisti and Dr. Nighat.
However, the disgruntled faction led by Amir Khan has nominated Farooq Naseem, Nasreen Jalil, Abdul Qadir Khanzada, Aminul Haq and Amir Chisti.
A row hit MQM-P after Rabta Committee removed Kamran Tessori, Sattar’s favoured candidate for Senate elections, from the coordination committee and suspended him for six months.
The suspension resulted into a split within the party with Farooq Sattar coming at odds with the Rabta Committee members.
