ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has on Wednesday apologized over his ‘skirt’ remarks that he gave on January 13, 2018, during his speech at a judicial conference in Karachi.
Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, today, said while hearing a case that he had mentioned Winston Churchill’s quote during his address but an issue was created out of it on social media.
The CJP said it was not his intention to hurt anyone’s feelings and also acknowledged the role of women who are 50% part of our society.
Justice Saqib Nisar had on January 13 said, “Don’t think I’ve written a long speech. I was always told, ‘a speech should be like a woman’s skirt. It should not be too long that one loses one’s interest. Neither it should be too short that it doesn’t cover the subject’. So I will be adhering to that principle."
