His vehicles tyres burst while on route at the motorway near Chakri interchange

CHAKRI (Dunya News) – General (retd) Khalid Shamim Wynne lost his life on Saturday in a car accident when his vehicle crashed while on route at the motorway near Chakri interchange.

The former Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) breathed his last today while traveling through motorway. The tyres of his car burst at high speed which became the cause of his death. The car can be seen overturned on the side skirts of highway.

The car went out of control and met a tragic accident on the highway. The death of Gen (retd) Wynne was confirmed by the media wing of the Pakistan Army.

Apart from the two killings, two others were injured who traveling in the car alongside him. His son is one of the three injured.

Gen (retd) Wynne had replaced then General Tariq Majid as the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee. He was promoted to four-star General on October 7, 2010. Wynne retired in the year 2013.



According to APP, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the death of former chairman joint chiefs of staff committee general (retd) Khalid Shameem Wynne in a road accident.

He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and grant of courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss, PM office media wing said in a press release. The prime minister also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured in the accident.
