ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, said on Tuesday that one should not be afraid of speaking the truth.

She expressed her views when a journalist asked about her comments over being featured on New York Times’ powerful women list.

Captain (retd.) Safdar also spoke to media and maintained that organizations should work while remaining in the jurisdiction of the constitution.

“Politicians do not need a clean chit from the courts. Decision against Nawaz Sharif on July 8 became a mockery of Pakistan in the whole world,” he said.

While predicting PML-N chief’s victory in 2018, Safdar asserted that Imran Khan will again remain empty-handed.

Nawaz Sharif along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar reappeared in the accountability court today in connection with three corruption references filed against him by National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Former PM Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz traveled from Lahore to Islamabad in the morning to attend the hearing. It will be 16th hearing of Avenfield properties and Flagship Investment references and 20th hearing of the Azizia Steel Mills reference.

Nawaz Sharif appeared before accountability court on nine occasions while Maryam Nawaz on 11 times and Captain (r) Safdar on 13 occasions. At least eight prosecution witnesses have recorded their statements in all the three references so far.
