Sharif family references: Prosecution witness Yasir Bashir records statements
The court will record the statement of prosecution witnesses.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar reappeared in the accountability court today (Tuesday) in connection with three corruption references filed against him by National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The court recorded the statement of prosecution witnesses Yasir Bashir in Azizia Steel Mills reference and Shakil Anjum Nagra statement in Avenfield properties reference during today’s proceedings.
Witness Yasir Shabir said that Rs 5.71 crore was transferred to Maryam Nawaz’s account from Hill Metal Company, after which the court sought transaction vouchers in next hearing.
Afterwards, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz were allowed to leave the court.

Nawaz Sharif said that analyze verdicts on his and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan cases to observe double standard of the judiciary. He said that he doesn’t know what damage he has done to the national treasure.
Former PM said that not taking salary from son was termed as his asset by judicial authorities.
Imran Khan had confessed to doing transactions, he added.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president said that sitting PM was ousted in a second over baseless allegations, continuing, “ We had taken to streets for restoration of judiciary but now, we have to launch movement to safe justice.”
Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz said that one should not get afraid when speaking truth while Captain (r) Safdar predicted Nawaz Sharif’s victory in 2018 and said that Imran Khan will get nothing.
Nawaz Sharif is nominated suspect in references regarding Avenfield properties, Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investment, while Maryam Nawaz and her husband Captain (r) Safdar are nominated in reference regarding Avenfield properties alone.
According to the sources, former PM Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz traveled from Lahore to Islamabad in the morning to attend the hearing.
It will be 16th hearing of Avenfield properties and Flagship Investment references and 20th hearing of the Azizia Steel Mills reference.
Nawaz Sharif appeared before accountability court on nine occasions while Maryam Nawaz on 11 times and Captain (r) Safdar on 13 occasions. At least eight prosecution witnesses have recorded their statements in all the three references so far.
