Summary Fareed Alam, father of 10, was killed due to police torture in Korangi Hundred Quarters area.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Police torture claimed life of a 55-year-old man in Korangi Hundred Quarters area of Karachi on Wednesday, Dunya News reported.
According to details, police conducted a raid in Korangi Hundred Quarters area to arrest a youth named Munir but his 55-year-old Fareed Alam father resisted upon which police brutally tortured the old man. Fareed died of police torture.
The heirs of the deceased informed media that police released Munir after the death of Fareed Alam. They also informed that the area where the raid was conducted falls in the jurisdiction of Ibrahim Haidri Police Station but the police from Awami Police station carried out the raid.
Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal has taken notice of the incident has directed DIG East to conduct an inquiry.
