The finance minister can travel back to Pakistan from London: judge

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – An accountability court has issued detailed verdict on Tuesday after finance minister Ishaq Dar was declared a proclaimed offender earlier this week in assets beyond means case for continous absence at hearings.

Judge Muhammad Bashir of the accountability court issued a six-page order today stating that the accused can travel from London to Pakistan and that a medical report was filed with the court to delay the court proceedings.

The court has stated that the accused minister maintained absence on purpose. The judge has ordered guarantor of Ishaq Dar in the case to submit Rs 0.5mln otherwise his property will be seized and auctioned.

The finance minister was granted three-month leave by Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi after Dar shifted to London citing medical treatment.
