Killer whale spotted in sea near Karachi
Killer whale also known and Ocra was sighted off Churna Island near Karachi.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – According to WWF Pakistan, killer whale also known as Ocra was spotted five kilometers southwest of Churna Island near Karachi on November 19.
The killer whale is considered the most powerful predator on earth and has been reported on only a few occasions from Oman and the PersianGulf. However, it is rarely found in the northern Arabian Sea.
Fisherman Muhammad Muneeb recorded the first ever sighting of killer whale in Pakistan. No authentic record of this species is known from Pakistani waters up till now.
