ATTOCK (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan assured that foreign policy in the ‘new Pakistan’ will be made in the best interest of the nation, adding that a country in debt cannot be free to make policies for external affairs.
Addressing to a PTI rally in Attock, he told that his party will not come under external pressure. He promised to improve the situation of environment in the country by growing trees like in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He outlined the priorities of PTI if the party comes to power in next elections.
Imran Khan talked about the rising poverty, unemployment, and insufficient facilities in the public hospitals. "In the Western world, the weak are employed by suitable policies … Pakistan has 100 million people under poverty line," he said, stressing that only the rich thrive in existing policies.
On corruption in the country, he criticised the ruling PML-N government and Sharif family for evading accountability and creating rift between institutions. PTI chief also questioned how PPP Co-chairman Asif Zardari and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar multiplied their assets despite humble origins.
Calling out Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, he refuted to his statement that corruption isn t a major issue in the country. He gave the example of the thriving China where extreme punishments are issued to corrupt politicians and other men in power. He added, "In no country, a corrupt and convicted man is allowed by law to head political party."
It is worth mentioning that Imran Khan has challenged "Election Reforms Act 2017" in the Supreme Court today stating that amendments are contradictory to the constitution. The move comes one month after PML-N appointed ex-PM Nawaz Sharif as party president.
Protest if PML-N makes NAB weak
Imran Khan demanded the supporters to protest against the corrupt politicians including the Sharif family to save the future of the country. “Our judiciary has stood up and gave verdict on merit … Pakistan Army’s two officials in (Panama case) JIT on merit,” he added. He asked for support if the ruling party kept criticising the institution and anti-graft body NAB is weakened by reforming laws.
Maj Tahir joins PTI
He congratulated Major Tahir Sadiq on joining PTI and said he will be happy with his decision in future. Imran Khan said that the PTI workers have already expressed their love for Maj. Tahir during the Attock rally.
