Summary Karsaz flyover and Shahrah-e-Faisal were shut for all kinds of traffic

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto along with his sisters Bakhtawar and Asifa offered fateha and paid their tribute on Wednesday to the martyrs of Karsaz carnage.

Police enforcements were deployed in the areas for security.

Karsaz flyover and Shahrah-e-Faisal were shut for all kinds of traffic to maintain security of the area. Deputy speaker of Sindh Assembly Shehla Raza, MPA Saeed Ghani among other dignitaries reached the site in the morning today.

While talking to the media, Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani complained that police did not register a First Hand Information report as per Pakistan People’s Party’s stance.

He alleged that the the person who ‘ruled the area’ at the time had cleared all the evidence until a case was lodged. Late Benazir Bhutto visited families of the martyrs the next day and offered her condolences, Durrani said.

Provincial minister Manzoor Wasan said that PPP is still awaiting justice for the lives lost of its workers.

Some 150 people were killed, 450 wounded in twin blasts in Karsaz area on October 17, 2007 during a PPP rally.
