Summary YDA protests enters 11th day after talks fail with government officials

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Young Doctors Association has decided to resume its protests, entering in 11th day as negotiations with the government failed to occur.

It appears as if their stubborn demands have annoyed the government, leaving patients unattended. In Lahore, the young doctors serving in Services Hospital, General Hospital, Children s Hospital, Ganga Ram Hospital and Jinnah Hospital are not attending their respective duties.

Patients face difficulties as no platform is available for their medical problems. The disappearance has caused no activity in OPDs and In-door. Patients who have come for far flung areas have no other choice than Government hospitals.

Young Doctors Association (YDA) has pitched in their demands, time anad again but to no avail. Protests have spread to Children Complex, Civil and Nishtar Hospital. The patients and their families are facing difficulties in availing medical facilities.

The tragic situation is no different in Faisalabad Allied Hospital as patients have no one to tend to their health problems. Several operations were cancelled and not carried out but no action has been taken to account for the disgraceful disservice. In Gujrat, the closure of OPD has caused severe problems for patients seeking health recovery.

In Rahimyar Khan, young doctors have boycotted the operation theatres, in-door and OPD which has resulted in same problems as protest causes doctors to abandon their basic duties.
