(Web Desk) - In a historic verdict on Panama Leaks case, the Supreme Court on Friday (Today) disqualified Nawaz Sharif as prime minister in a case that had been lingering since April last year.
The case has been referred to NAB, as Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan also ordered to file reference in accountability court in six weeks to investigate matter against Nawaz Sharif and his children.
Panama Papers had published a leak of documents belonging to Mossack Fonseca, a law firm in April 2016 creating uproar in as it stated names of Sharif family members for owning off-shore assets.
The nation followed the case for more than a year and the climax has led to mixed reactions from the leaders and public on social media.
The top trending topics on Twitter throughout the country remained #Panama Verdict, #ChNisar and for those who believe in the Prime Minister’s innocence #NationStandsWithNawaz.
As news of Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification spreads across the land people are using Twitter to vent out there the outrage (for Nawaz’s supporters) and jubilation (for Nawaz’s opponents) in equal measure.
Here’s a look at the reactions from different political figures, journalists, and the general public on one of the most important verdicts of the decade in the history of Pakistan:

However, there were those who opposed the decision by saying institutions like the establishment and the Supreme Court have once again managed to topple a democratically elected prime minister.
This case was less about corruption & accountability; more about reminding the political class who really runs Pakistan. #PanamaVerdict

Really shameful the powerful institutions have once again played the dirties role to oust democratically elected Prime Minister of #Pakistan

This decision is not only legally defective but politically its Establishment has won, democracy has lost ..... once again.
