Corruption of not even a single penny proved against PM: Marriyum Aurangzeb
The public voted for PM Nawaz and he will fight for the nation, she asserted.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has said on Tuesday that corruption of not even a single penny has been proved against Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif.
During media talk outside Supreme Court (SC), she pronounced that Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was not able to provide evidence over any accusation against the premier.
“The public voted for PM Nawaz and he will fight for the nation,” she asserted.
Aurangzeb notified that the JIT exceeded its mandate. “JIT’s documents are not verified. Delibrate fforts were made to register fake case against premier. JIT report is not the verdict of Supreme Court,” she said.
The information minister said that Pakistan will become a terror-free nation under the leadership of PM Nawaz. She urged Pakistan’s judiciary to reject conspiracies hatched by opposition parties.
While talking about the hearing, she said Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer raised legal points on the validity of documents obtained by the JIT through informal channels. "The documents obtained through informal sources are liable to scrutiny and verification."
The Minister of State expressed hope that the Supreme Court will reject the baseless allegations leveled against the three-time elected prime minister.
PML-N leaders accused the JIT of not finding any solid evidence but only useless material. “Political orphans approach SC not for accountability but for gaining power,” they said.
Abid Sher Ali slammed Imran Khan and said that he aims to harm democracy in Pakistan however; he vowed that they will not let him succeed in the effort.
Earlier, Daniyal Aziz demanded to public the video recordings of JIT s probe.
