LAHORE (Dunya News) – Temperature in major parts of the country witnessed a decline as rain lashed numerous cities and turned the weather pleasant.
Karachiites took a sigh of relief as their prayers were accepted in the form of rainfall, however; the respite was soon marred by power outages in several areas including Liaquatabad, Malir, Dalmia, Shaheed Millat Road, Korangi, Khokharapar, Lyari, Kareemabad, Banaras, Orango Town, Shah Faisal Colony, Lines Area and airport.

Meanhwile, Rawalpindi and Islamabad are reeling under hot weather as the temperature is likely to shot upto 38 degrees. However; Met office has predicted strong winds, thunderstorm and rainfall at scattered places of the twin cities.

Heat intensity also lowered down in the ‘City of Gardens’ Lahore. Cool breeze in the morning slightly decreased the mercury level. The temperature is estimated to decline more as the city is likely to receive additional rainfall in next two days.
According to Met Office, dust-thunderstorm rain with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Multan, Sahiwal, DG Khan, Bahawalpur, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Zhob, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, D I khan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions, FATA, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan.

However, hot and dry weather is likely to prevail elsewhere in the country.
According to synoptic situation, a westerly wave is still affecting upper and central parts of the country and likely to persist during next two days.
Temperature of some major cities recorded on Thursday morning was:-
Islamabad and Lahore 24°C, Karachi 30°C, Peshawar 26°C, Quetta 22°C, Gilgit 13°C, Murree 15°C and Muzaffarabad 19°C.
