Summary CPEC is a core component of the visionary initiative of the One belt and One Road project, said PM.

HANGZHOU (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif held meeting with Communist Party Secretary of Chinese province of Zhejiang, Che Jun and expressed that both countries have strong historical and cultural ties.

During the meeting, PM Nawaz stressed boosting mutual cooperation and said that both states are standing firmly for the betterment of the people living in the region.

He said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a core component of the visionary initiative of the One belt and One Road project.

On the occasion, China’s Communist Party Secretary said that Nawaz Sharif was briefed about Zhejiang province, saying that it is an economic hub and historically part of Silk Route. He said that Pakistan and China relations have extended to the public level.

Zhejiang has strong business ties with Pakistan that will last forever, he added.

PM Nawaz, who is in China on week-long visit to attend the Belt and Road Forum in the Chinese capital, arrived in Hangzhou from Beijing where he attended the inaugural session of the two-day event.

During his stay in Beijing, the premier addressed the plenary session of the forum and two sessions of the Leaders Roundtable.

He said Chinese initiative of One Belt and One Road would take humankind to a higher level of prosperity, peace and stability through connectivity and close contact. He said peace and development go hand in hand, and nothing can pave the path for peace and security more than economic development achieved through regional collaboration.

PM Nawaz made it very clear that CPEC is an economic undertaking open to all countries in the region having no geographical boundaries.
