All resources will be utilised for uninterrupted power supply: PM
PM Nawaz Sharif chaired the Cabinet Committee on Energy in the capital
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired the Cabinet Committee on Energy during Monday where he promised that all available resources would be utilised for the uninterrupted supply of electricity, reported Dunya News.
He directed the authorities to complete all energy projects in time. PM Nawaz issued orders for the Ministry of Water and Power as well. He directed the ministry to immediately resolve issues with National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) regarding upfront tariff.
While addressing the problem of power outages in the country, PM claimed that the government was working on multiple options of power generation to provide uninterrupted electricity to domestic and industrial consumers.

Nawaz Sharif told that the government was making serious efforts to initiate thermal power projects which would be helpful throughout the calendar, even in the lean intervals of hydro power generation in the next year and onwards.
He also asked that line departments should work out immediate solutions for administrative and legal issues faced in implementation of energy projects on priority.
The Water and Power Secretary Younus Dagha told the meeting about current load management plan, implementation status of planned and ongoing energy projects and enhancement of transmission system.
Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) Chairman Lt Gen (R) Muzammil Hussain briefed the meeting on progress of Hydroelectic power projects in Dasu, Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam.
Moreover, according to the stats shared in the meeting, 5700 megawatts energy will be added into the national grid by December, this year, while 8000 megawatts till March, next year. The attendees of the meeting had discussion on energy projects in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
