The Federal Government has decided to cut the size of the Cabinet for decreasing the expenditures of the government. Federal Law Minister Babar Awan has also announced resizing of the Cabinet. Awan said that some ministers would be given additional charges and some ministries would be shifted to provinces. According to some reports, Petroleum Minister Naveed Qamar would be given additional charge of Ports and Shipping Ministry. Qamar Zaman Kaira while talking to Dunya News said that allies would be taken into confidence for reshuffling in the Cabinet. PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique while talking to Dunya News said that differences can resurface if the government does not implement 10-point agenda. He said that cut in the size of Cabinet was the part of 10-point agenda. Senior analyst Nasim Zahra said that right-sizing of the Cabinet was not mean to dissolve it. And the government can not do this without taking the other parties into confidence. Asima Chaudhry said that the government was under severe pressure from opposition parties and it was trying to implement some of the points of 10point agenda given by Nawaz Sharif.
