ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – All Parties Conference (APC) led by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to discuss military courts’ extension is underway at Zardari House in Islamabad.
According to details, former president Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto are chairing the meeting.
Opposition leader Khurshid Shah, Aitzaz Ahsan, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) chief Chaudhry Shujat Hussain, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl’s (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq and other leaders are present in the meeting.
PPP is being represented by Nayyar Bukhari, Sherry Rehman, Naveed Qamar and Farhatullah Babar whereas Mian Iftekhar, Haji Balour, Afrasiab Khattak and Zahid Khan are participating from Awami National Party (ANP).
Balochistan National Party’s (BNP) Senator Israr Ullah Zehri, Awami Muslim League’s (AML) Sheikh Rasheed, Qaumi Watan Party’s Aftab Sherpao, parliamentary leader of FATA Haji Shah Jee Gul, Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen’s Allama Nasir Abbas and delegation of firqa-e-jafria are also there in the session.
However, no invitation was sent to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) whereas Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has excused to participate in the conference.
No leader from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has arrived at Zardari House so far.
A four-point agenda is being discussed in the meeting that includes implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) and its consequences, restoration of military courts’ extension, FATA reforms and profiling of pakhtuns in Punjab.
The attendees will also be getting lunch whereas a joint declaration would also be issued at the end of the meeting.
