The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered the authorities concerned to take strict action against those involved in the embezzlement of billions of rupees in Nato lorries case, Dunya News reported. Taking suo moto notice of a news report aired on Dunya News, A three-member bench wondered that besides the smuggling of alcohol and arms, what else is being smuggled in the pretext of Afghan trade. The CJP hailed Dunya News for divulging such a huge corruption of Rs 37 billion, the said report would surprise all those who read it. The smuggled goods have incurred heavy losses to countrys economy, the chief justice remarked. Justice Ramday maintained that the accused would speak out after being shackled. The apex court issued notices to all those concerned regarding the Nato containers case. The court called the list of people who have worked as Custom Collectors, Chairman FBR and D.G. NLC since Year 2007.The case was adjourned till January 27.
