The written decision constituting twenty two pages included approving test tubes babies for married couples. It said that test tube babies carried out except by married couples is un-Islamic and the government should take action against those involved in it.

FSC ordered the government to legislate regarding the matter till August 15. Earlier, the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) had also approved test tube babies for married couples during 2013, however, it had declared same-sex operations un-Islamic at that time.

CII had stated back then that new innovations in science and technology are welcomed in Muslim life given that they stay within limits prescribed by Islam.

What is the process of test tube baby?

In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) or  test tube baby  is a fertilisation process in which female eggs are fertilised by sperms outside the body. A vitro - glass tube - is used in the process. Female ovulatory process is stimulated in glass tube. It is conducted in laboratories by removing the ovum from female ovaries and letting sperm fertilise them in a liquid.

After the egg fertilisation is completed, the zygote (fertilised egg) is cultured for two to six days in a growth medium and is then transferred to the female uterus, with the intention of establishing a successful pregnancy. Rest of the process from pregnancy to child birth is same as in any case after pregnancy.
