The Supreme Court on Friday ordered to arrest the owner of Techno Energy firm, if it fails to refund an advance mobilisation fund of Rs780 million along with mark-up by Monday for its failure to import machinery for a 150MW rental power project despite keeping the amount for over two years. A bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, Justice Ghulam Rabbani and Justice Khalilur Rehman Ramday ordered while hearing the suo moto notice of corruption allegations in RPPs. In case of failure to deposit the payment, seize the passport of the firms owner, an annoyed CJP ordered. Techno Companys owner counsel Raja Anwarul Haq told the court that his client was in Dubai and on Fridays the banks remained closed over there thats why he has not deposited the money. The apex court asked for his passport number and directed him to deposit the money by Monday with two-year mark-up. The case has been adjourned till January 17.
