Summary New developments in the torture case reveal Tayyaba went missing in 2014 and picked up by group

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – New developments in the Tayyaba torture case revealed that her real name was Sana, daughter of Nawaz. Sana had gone missing in 2014 from her home and then picked up by a group that supplied housemaids in return of money, reported Dunya News.

The real mother of the girl has also come to the fore. Her name is Kausar Bibi and belongs to Moza Karam Kaathia village near Kamalia. In 2014, the girl was sent to the house of a person named Usama Shahzad on Jaranwala Road in Faisalabad in return of a few thousand rupees.

According to police sources, Usama Shahzad’s family later shifted the girl to a relative of theirs in Lahore. When the parents of the girl reported to police that she had been kidnapped, police refused to register the case. Upon police’s refusal, Kausar Bibi turned to Lahore High Court and thus a kidnapping case was registered in Faisalabad’s Sadar police station on February 25, 2015 under Section 363.

Police told that the relatives of the girl reconciled with the alleged offender in return of Rs 130,000 and stamp papers were formally submitted in the police station. Thus, the case ended on May 20, 2016.

Sources in the case told Dunya News that Tayyaba’s family sent her to Lahore to work at a house from where she was later shifted to Rawalpindi and thus the close relatives of the child kept sending her from one place to another for a few bucks. Eventually, Tayyaba reached the additional session judges’ home from where the video of her torture was leaked.

Tayyaba’s mother came forward four days ago but when the alleged parents of the girl reconciled with the alleged offenders and an apology was made, Kausar Bibi fell silent yet again. However, when Chief Justice took suo moto action yesterday, Kausar Bibi also came to the fore and demanded custody of the child.

On the other hand, Islamabad High Court (IHC) registrar has submitted the report on the subject before Supreme Court. Social workers have also filed petitions in the court.
