A ceremony was held in General Rashid Mehmood's honour in GHQ over his retirement

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Chairman of Joint Chief of Staff Committee, General Rashid Mehmood has said on Friday that Pakistan’s valiant army is capable of tackling any challenge thrown its way.

He addressed a ceremony in General Headquarters (GHQ) that was organised in his honour over his forthcoming retirement.

During his speech, General Mehmood expressed satisfaction over operational readiness of the military regarding national strategic capabilities. He was proud to have served the army, he said.

Media cell of the military, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that Lieutenant General Najeebullah Khan and officials of all three armed forces participated in the ceremony.

General Mehmood is set to retire on Saturday after completing 41 years of service in the army.
