LAHORE (Dunya News) – A meeting was held in civil secretariat on Tuesday to review the reasons behind the traffic jam and escalating number of accidents in Lahore.
The meeting headed by Punjab Home Secretary Azam Suleiman Khan and Jahangir Khanzada was attended by Inspector General (IG) police, secretary transport and District Coordination Officer (DCO) Lahore.
Home secretary formed three committees that will be supervised by Dr Umer Saif, DCO and Chief Traffic Commissioner (CTO) to develop the traffic system.
The committees will adopt long and short term ways to enhance the flow of traffic in the city and will inform Chief Secretary and Home Secretary about their planning.
The meeting also decided to declare some roads of Lahore as Model Road whereas steps will be taken in the first phase to better the traffic on Mall Road.
