Summary PTI representatives were elected to the parliament to participate in state's affairs: Sadiq

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Political workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have protested against the government over inadequate supply of gas and electricity while Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly (NA) addressed the media.

Sadiq talked to the media during his visit to provincial capital and criticised different politicians over statements against the ruling party.

As he addressed the media, several workers of PML-N protested at the site for insufficient supply of gas and electricity ahead of severe winter. However, reportedly the NA speaker left the site without addressing their issues.

Talking about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Sadiq said that the party did not have an option but to accept Supreme Court’s (SC) decision in cases over rigging accusations. The statement came in a day after SC upheld the election result in NA-110 in General Elections 2013.

Defence minister Khawaja Asif had won the seat then which PTI had objected to and file a case.

Ayaz Sadiq said today that order of the SC over PTI’s case against Khawaja Saad Rafique, Minister for Railways would be no different.

He said that the party was elected to the parliament to participate in state s affairs and not to boycott.

While talking about doctors protest in Lahore, Sadiq said that everyone reserves a right to protest but for that too there was a proper procedure.
