ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court on Thursday has dismissed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) plea challenging Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) victory in NA-110 constituency in Sialkot.

Khawaja Asif’s counsel Farooq H. Naek said that Election Tribunal has failed to provide any evidence to prove rigging in the constituency. He claimed that some elements were continuously pressurizing the courts to affect the decision.
PTI’s lawyer Babar Awan said that not election, but something else was happened in NA-110.

The petitions were filed by PTI candidate Usman Dar and independent candidate Arshad.
Earlier, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif while defeating PTI’s Usman Dar gained success with more than 20,000 votes from NA-110 in 2013 General Elections.
At least 197 voting bags were handed over to NADRA by the returning officer (RO) in the presence of additional session judge Khan Mehmood for further investigation.
On July 23, 2015, a three-member inquiry commission probing into alleged rigging in 2013 elections rejected the allegations and said that the polls were conducted fairly and according to the law.
NA-110 is among the constituencies in which PTI demanded investigation of the election’s outcome.
