Habib Akram said Asrar Gandapur's family accused Ali Amin Gandapur for Asrar's murder by Taliban

LAHORE: (Dunya News, Web Desk) – Senior journalist Habib Akram has on Sunday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Amin Gandapur was actually accused in Asrar Khan Gandapur’s murder.

Talking on Dunya News program Khabar Yeh Hai, Habib Akram said that while PTI Chairman Imran Khan was right about the ownership of the weapons seized from Ali Amin Gandapur, there was another important issue pertaining to this issue.

Imran Khan had earlier claimed in a press conference today that Ali Amin Gandapur had the weapons because he was on Taliban’s hit-list in Dera Ismail Khan, Gandapur’s hometown, where Asrar Khan Gandapur had been murdered by Taliban.

Habib Akram said that although Asrar Gandapur had died in Taliban bomb attack in DI Khan, Ali Amin Gandapur had actually been accused by Asrar’s family of involvement in the attack.

“The family of Asrar Gandapur had launched formal complaints claiming that Ali Amin Gandapur was actually responsible for Asrar Gandapur’s murder”, he said.

Police also claimed that they have recovered five Kalashnikov rifles, magazines, tear gas gun, alcohol bottle and 50 slaughtered partridges from PTI leader and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Minister Amin Gandapur‘s car near Bani Gala.

The PTI MPA rejected police claims, saying he was travelling with two licensed Kalashnikovs. He claimed the police let him go after recovering the licenses inside his car.

Earlier today, PTI chief Imran Khan urged party workers to reach Bani Gala at any cost.

The PTI leader has vowed to ‘lock down’ Islamabad on Wednesday in a bid to force Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign over allegations of corruption linked to the Panama Papers leaks. Police say they will block any such attempt.
