UN urged to take notice of Yasin Malik's incarceration

Summary OIC has demanded UNO to dispatch a fact-finding mission to Indian-occupied Kashmir

SRINAGAR (Dunya News) – Organisations concerned with human rights across the world have urged the United Nations Organisations (UNO) on Wednesday to take notice of unjust detention of Yasin Malik, a leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC).

Puppet government of Indian-held Kashmir shifted Malik to a hospital for a medical checkup over pressure from different human rights watchdogs however, he was taken back to prison despite concerns of the medics.

Malik was taken to incarceration over two months ago as India exercises its oppressive rule to suppress the freedom movement of Kashmiris that has been ongoing for past seven decades.

Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has demanded United Nations Organisation to dispatch a fact-finding mission to Indian-occupied Kashmir.

Earlier this month, Mishal Malik, wife of the detained leader said that his life was in danger if his medical treatment was ignored.

She had also written to then Secretary General of United Nations (UN), Ban Ki-moon in the issue.
She revealed that he was kept in solitary confinement the last time she saw him and his leg infection had gotten severe.
