Summary Police's robber-claim was refuted as the details came in over the weekend
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Judicial Magistrate of East District has ordered on Monday to try two cops through anti-terrorism court for alleged ‘police encounter’ in Nipa Chowrangi area that resulted in death of a student while his companion was injured.
Zafar and Nabeel, the two policemen who were on duty on the night of the incident, had opened fire on a motorcyclist and his pillion rider for allegedly not stopping at a picket on Friday.

Initial reports had suggested that the killed person was either a terrorist or a robber but claim of the police was refuted by the details that followed.
Complaining to the court, the petitioner maintained today that the slain student was struggling for his life while lying severely wounded on the road and the alleged criminals kept on riffling through his belongings and inspecting what he had worn.
Referring to the cops on duty that night, he observed that they killed a potential major in making of Pakistan Army.
Counsel, provided by the state to the defending party pleaded the court to not ignore the ‘fact’ that the personnel opened fire only after they realized that the riders did not stop when they were asked to adding to their suspicion in a city that is crime-plagued.
The court of law concluded after hearing the arguments that the suspects would be presented before an anti-terrorism court after 10th Muharram as they were to now be tried under sections of penal code that indulged in anti-terrorism laws.
