8th Muharram processions being taken out across Pakistan amid tight security

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Processions of Muharram 8 are being taken out all around the country and are moving towards their destination.

A large number of mourners are attending the processions with high security in place in all the cities.

In Karachi, the procession was taken out from Nishtar park. Majlis-e-Aza, addressed by Maulana Muhammad Ali Naqvi, was held at the start.

The procession will end at Hussanian Iranian Imambargah before Maghrib.

Shops located at MA Jinnah road and surrounding areas have been sealed whereas more than 400 policemen and Rangers personnel have been deployed for security.

In Lahore, the procession was taken out from Mori gate and is ongoing towards its destination amidst stringent safety measures.

In Islamabad, the main procession was taken out from Jamia Ali Murtaza Peshawar Mor which will end at G-9/2.

Processions are also being held in Multan and other small and big cities.
