Governor Punjab Salman Taseer has said that he called for review and not annulment of blasphemy laws, Dunya News reported on Friday. Talking to media after attending Punjab Assembly parliamentary party meeting, Taseer said that he took the mercy petition of death convict in blasphemy case Aasia Bibi to President Zardari and called for review of the said laws. PML-Ns Ayaz Mir demanded its annulment; I just sought amendment or review, the Governor said. On the occasion, President PPP Imtiaz Safdar Warriach denied the news of firing incident at Gujranwala.
