Summary Tareen did not deny that there were differences

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Jahangir Tareen held a meeting with member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and that of youth wing, Fazal Ilahi among others amid intraparty differences ahead of Raiwind march.

The meeting came in after youth wing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf developed issues with the Secretary General of the party ahead of an important strategic move, which is Raiwind march that aims to pressure the premier and the government.

Fazal Ilahi, MPA from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stated after the meeting that whatever the differences be, it was an intraparty matter and would not have implications on the protest march in Lahore.

He said that recommendations were forwarded to Tareen for reorganisation in the party while he was made aware of rightful demands.

Before the meeting, Jahangir Tareen acknowledged that there were differences but asserted that they would be taken care of once Raiwind march concludes.

The senior member of the party has taken steps for reconciliation with the youth wing to avoid adverse effects on the protest rally in Raiwind of Lahore which is home to the premier, Nawaz Sharif who currently is in New York to address the United Nations General Assembly session.

While, Tareen is mending the relation with the department, former secretary general of the youth wing, Qasim Shah has demanded the party leadership of establishing a sub-wing.

Reports that were recently published revealed that certain posters had surfaced demanding Imran Khan, Chairman of the party to sack Tareen for ‘horse-trading’ in intraparty elections.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is scheduled to hold a protest rally in Raiwind on September 30 as announced by Chairman of the opposition party, Imran Khan.

Khan has held several rallies in different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Punjab including Lahore against premier’s alleged corruption, evasion of taxes and wealth-stashing.

The protests have been observed in context of Panama leaks which surfaced in April this year. Documents of Mossack Fonseca, a law firm in Panama were leaked and studied by International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.

The documents contained names of people belonging to different countries including 140 in-service and former leaders of the world for owning offshore companies.

The shell companies were seen as means to evade taxes and accumulate wealth in foreign accounts.

Daughter and sons of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif were also named in the documents after which joint opposition, face of which was PTI, demanded PM’s resignation on basis that he had lost moral grounds to lead the nation.

A 12-member committee that was formed to develop Terms of References for probe by Supreme Court bench has not reached consensus in the issue.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan is adamant that premier should resign as he does not hold a stature to lead the nation after his alleged corruption.
