PCO judges: Justice Sair says case would prolong

Summary

Justice Sair Ali on Monday lamented over the circumstances that made him hear a case of contempt against PCO judges. A five-member bench, headed by Justice Sair Ali, of Supreme Court heard the case against PCO judges. PCO Judges counsel Advocate Abdul Basit argued that the case could not be proceeded until the ruling comes on intra-court appeal, which was rejected by Justice Sair. Justice Sair said that the case would prolong and asked the lawyers not to hurry. When told that lower judiciary judges are exempted form law, Justice Tariq Pervez wondered what would be done to a judge, if he murdered anyone. Advocate Kazim Raza argued that in that case supreme judicial council would remove the judge, and the case would be then forwarded to the CJP. The hearing was deferred till tomorrow (Tuesday).
