KARACHI (Dunya News) – Chief Minister of Sindh (CM) Murad Ali Shah on Thursday said that peace in a province is in the hands of police personnel.

Talking to a ceremony regarding security officers’ promotion at central police office, CM Sindh said that Karachi operation will only get successful when police department would be made strong.



He termed the issue of recruitment on quota system in Sindh as political matter.

Murad Ali Shah said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader and newly-elected Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar would be facilitated as per jail’s rules and regulations.

No one would be treated differently in jail due to his designation, he added.

He said that it is impossible to eliminate street crimes completely in Sindh but an impressive decrease can be bought in this regard. 

He also vowed to raze all the illegal buildings in the province and refrained from talking on famous Qawwal Amjad Sabri’s murder.

The minister also put batches on as many as 251 policemen who were promoted to Deputy Superintendent of Police post.



On the occasion, Inspector General Sindh AD Khawaja said that provincial government’s assistance is required to improve the efficacy of police department in the province.
