The first ever meeting of the Parliamentary Committee for the appointment of judges is being held at the Parliament House on Monday. The meeting is mulling over the election of the new chairman of the committee besides certain rules and regulations for the Commission. All the nominated have been sent notices to attend the meeting.Secretary Senate will also be the secretary of the committee in accordance with the 18th amendment. The committee comprised four members each from both the government and the opposition. From the government side, Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari and Sabir Baloch from the Senate while Aftab Shaban Mirani and Asima Arbab from the National Assembly are attending the meeting, while from the opposition PML-N leader Ishaq Dar and Sardar Mehtab Abbasi while Senator Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Sardar Ghous Bukhsh from PML-Q are also among the attendees.
