The stance of the government on gas loadshedding has again changed and it has issued notices to the factories for a two-day holiday for gas supply from 15th November in the province, Dunya News reported on Saturday. According to the Sui Gas authorities, the new gas load management plan would be followed till 15th January, 2011. All the cities of Punjab province have been divided into three zones. Factories of each zone would not receive the gas supply for two days a week. Zone-1 includes Sheikhupura region whereas Zone-2 includes Lahore and Sahiwal regions. Islamabad, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala and Bahawalpur are part of Zone-3. Suspended gas supply on 15th and 16th of this month notification for all the textile factories of Zone-3 has been issued. Representatives of Industrial unions have said that it was decided with Federal Minister Naveed Qamar that the gas load management plan would be implemented from December but the government could not fulfill its promise. On the other hand, Sui Gas authorities have said that the gas load management plan has been approved by the federal cabinet and that there are no chances of changes in the plan before 15th January, 2011.
