Summary "We will continue protesting until we don’t get justice from courts," says Kanwar Naveed Jamil
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita committee leader Kanwar Naveed Jamil stated on Wednesday that party leader Waseem Akhtar was handed over to a brutal police officer instead of being transferred to a police station after he was apprehended, reported Dunya News.
While addressing a press conference at the Khurshid Begum Secretariat, Kanwar Naveed Jamil said that a demonstration shall be organised outside Karachi Press Club against the apprehension of party leaders Waseem Akhtar and Rauf Siddiqui.
MQM leader said that Waseem Akhtar was a nominated mayor of Karachi and instead of being transferred to the police station, he was handed over to a brutal police officer. “I am telling the institutions and the court to stop behaving with the mohajirs in this manner,” Naveed Jamil said.
Muttahida leader demanded that the atrocities that were being carried out against MQM workers must be stopped immediately and said that Waseem Akhtar be sent to jail until he gets bailed.
He added that martial law was practically imposed in Karachi, stating that the party was raising voice against the tyrannical behaviour being carried out against mohajirs during the past three years. “We will continue protesting until we don’t get justice from courts,” said Jamil.
