Summary Deputy Inspector General East Zone took notice of the thrashing
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Three policemen have been arrested in precincts of Aziz Bhatti Police Station for torturing two locals riding a motorcycle, reported Monday.
The reason behind the argument is yet to be confirmed.
Deputy Inspector General East Zone took notice of the thrashing on University Road by three policemen on duty.
Before DIG took notice of the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police East, Faisal Abdullah suspended all three of them and ordered an inquiry in the matter.
He had directed their higher-ups to launch a departmental activity against them adding that such behavior of police with the locals would not be tolerated.
Two locals, dressed modestly were beaten up by policemen with one kicked in the belly several times. Action was taken against them after a video recorded using a mobile phone camera was aired on television.
