Railway police buy eight luggage scanning machines worth 39 million
Police have also decided to buy 500 PK-4 rifles for track patrolling officers.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Railway police on Wednesday have purchased eight scanning machines worth 3.9 crore to improve the security system at various stations.
As per Daily Dunya report, the security personnel have bought eight luggage scanning machines to stop transportation of prohibited items.
The officials said that bags were being loaded on trains without checking due to which the betterment in security was decided.
In the first phase, two machines would be placed at Lahore station, two will be installed at Karachi Cantt station while the others would be utilized at Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Rohri Railways stations.
On the other hand, police have also decided to buy 500 PK-4 rifles for track patrolling officers in a wake of security concerns.
