Summary The action has been taken after violation of an understanding: Pakistan Railways

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Railways Prem Union clashed with employees of a country club situated on Canal Road as police sealed it enforcing administration’s order over alleged violation of an agreement, reported Friday.

Pakistan Railways senior official Zubair Shafi Ghouri told that the administration was not issued any injunction by a court against closure of the club. Railways authorities could never think of disrespecting a court’s order, he added.

He cited violation of an understanding between the railways department and the club for the closure. The piece of land club is built on belongs to Pakistan Railways and it was bound to respect the agreement, according to Ghouri.

He further said that club’s authorities were supervising construction of encroachments instead of opposing the idea as demanded by the agreement.

Reportedly, Federal Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique took Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in confidence.
