Weather turns pleasant as rain lashes most parts of country

Summary The Met Office has forecast 20 percent more rains in monsoon than normal.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Rains with gusty winds in parts of country including Islamabad and upper Punjab have turned weather pleasant, reported on Saturday.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Islamabad and Rawalpindi witnessed thunderstorm as the wind blew in twin cities was recorded 93 kilometer/hour.



On the other hand, downpour also lashed Faisalabad, Sargodha, Gujrat, Sheikhupura and Attock.

The Met Office has forecast 20 percent more rains in monsoon than normal while Director General PMD Dr Ghulam Rasool said Punjab will observe 40 percent more rains.

Similarly, Karachi Hyderabad and Thar would also receive more rain than the normal that may result in brief urban flood if the water courses and sewerage are not timely cleaned.

He said upcoming two months are important in terms of planning as how much we are prepared to cope with such a situation.



More rains have also been expected in Punjab and Kashmir in next two days while dust-thunderstorm with strong gusty winds have also been predicted at scattered places in Kashmir, Islamabad, upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad divisions) and Hazara divisions, while at isolated places in upper KP (Malakand, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu divisions), FATA, south Punjab (Multan, D.G khan, Bahawalpur divisions), northeast Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob, Sibbi, Naseerabad divisions), Sukkur division and Gilgit-Baltistan.
