Spread of dengue virus has been intensified in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During the last 24 hours, 4 people were killed while 152 cases of dengue virus were confirmed in Karachi. Total number of dengue patients crossed 1800 whereas registered patients of dengue reached 613 in Lahore. Two dengue patients were killed in Islamabad and Rawalpindi while a woman was killed in Lahore due to dengue fever. EDO Dr. Fayyaz Ranjha was suspended due to negligence over handling the dengue patient by doctors. Federal Secretary Health said that flood and dengue have no connection but intensity of the disease has been increased after floods.
