LAHORE (Web Desk) – While conversing with Dunya News on Saturday, Chairman Standing Committee on Finance in the Senate Saleem Mandviwalla stated that Chief Justice (CJ) Anwar Zaheer Jamali cannot get his hands over any data regarding offshore companies as there is no law in the country that caters to the issue, reported Dunya News.

He added that Pakistan has not signed agreements with other countries regarding information sharing. He said that Switzerland did not give information about former president Asif Ali Zardari and that former Prime Minister (PM) Yousuf Raza Gillani was reluctant writing to the Swiss authorities because of this deficiency in the country’s legislation.

Mandviwalla said that the grand opposition will present its suggestion to the government in regards to the Panama Leaks investigation. He said that the CJ can use the services of foreign forensics in regards to the investigation however they will also have to rely upon the record available within the country.

He said that the data of the Election Commission, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) can also be helpful in regards to the investigation of the matter.
