Summary Musharraf's lawyers say former president went abroad after the approval of SC, Interior Ministry

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former president Pervez Musharraf submits application for fourteen weeks of immunity from appearing in court in regards to the high treason case, reported Dunya News.

The stance taken by the lawyers of Musharraf is that the former president went abroad in order to undergo medical treatment, therefore it is not possible for him to appear for the hearing of the case on April 19 so he may be given immunity worth 14 weeks from showing up at the court.

Rashid Qureshi, Musharraf’s guarantor, stated that the special court did not prohibit the movement of the former president. He added that Musharraf was granted immunity on March 31, 2014, by the court from showing up at the hearing of the case and that he has gone abroad for his treatment with the approval of the Supreme Court and the complainant Ministry of the Interior.
