Summary Mukhtar becomes the first noteworthy female politician to join Pak Sarzameen Party
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Bilquees Mukhtar on Wednesday joined Mustafa Kamal’s Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) while abandoning her previous political affiliations, reported Dunya News.
Bilquees was elected as an MPA for MQM from Azizabad, Karachi. While addressing a press conference alongside Bilquees, PSP head Mustafa Kamal welcomed her to the party.
Referring to MQM, Kamal stated that certain elements are busy spreading speculations against Pak Sarzameen Party adding that at times reports regarding conflicts between him and Anees Qaimkhani are speculated and that they are also unable to get approval for the location of their party’s procession because of some voodoo done by their adversaries.
Referring to MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar, Kamal said that he is an innocent person who is also a victim of Muttahida. He pleaded the MQM followers to think of their loved ones and their safety because of the party’s notorious reputation. He said that the Altaf Hussain, MQM chief, murdered around 15 thousand people and is proud of the fact, further adding that the workers were made agents of the Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) yet the Muttahida quaid is not ready to seek forgiveness for his actions.
Bilquees Mukhtar resigned from her designation of MPA, adding that she was listening to whatever Kamal said for a month and stated that she shared his feelings of suffocation arising because of the truth about matters not being told. She announced that she has formally joined Pak Sarzameen Party today.
She added that after serving MQM for 35 years, she along with Kamal and others are not here to do grouping. Referring to Altaf Hussain, Bilquees stated that he gave us the identity of target killer, extortionists and RAW agents and that he prefers the party leaders and workers who keep praising him. She inquired as to why have those ladies who were willing to sacrifice their lives for the party, left it.
Mukhtar said that if she, being a woman, can have the courage to make the move and leave MQM then so should the other workers as well. She added that the impression that MQM workers are RAW agents and are anti-state actors is wrong.
She said that she cried quite a lot when Saulat Mirza was hanged, further adding that such workers were asset for MQM but they were labeled as criminals and were used as “tissue papers” by the party hierarchy.
