DIG operations expressed unawareness regarding any security threat

LAHORE (Dunya News) – After misidentification of the suspected suicide bomber and launch of FIR by the police officials, a new sketch of the suspect has been released who is said to be aged between 20-25 years, reported Dunya News.

Muhammad Yusuf, resident of Muzaffargarh who lost his life in Lahore blast was declared suspect after an ID card was recovered from him by the authorities that created a state of confusion among the public.

During a meeting held on Monday morning, police officials admitted their fault and released a sketch related to the suspected suicide bomber.

On the other hand, First Information Report (FIR) has also been launched which stated that 4 terrorists had tried to enter the park. After counter attack by the security guards 3 of them fled the scene while the remaining 1 entered the park and blew himself.

After launching FIR, Superintendent of Police (SP) Iqbal Town reached the scene and said that it is not clear that how terrorist reached the park. On Sunday eve, DIG operations expressed lack of knowledge regarding any security threat.
