LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday has summoned reply from federal government and secretary establishment over a plea filed against the appointment of chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC).

The hearing of the case was conducted by Justice Shahid Waheed.

The petitioner Muneer Ahmad’s lawyer Azhar Siddique stated before the judge that federal government did not appointed HEC chairman Mukhtar Ahmed on merit which makes him ineligible for the post.

The lawyer explained that neither any advertisement regarding the post was published in any newspaper nor the regulatory requirements were met for the post.

The lawyer requested the court to annul Mukhtar Ahmed’s appointment as chairman HEC.

The court after hearing the arguments has summoned reply from federal government and secretary establishment in 15 days.
