SC denies granting more authorities to Rangers
Rangers not allowed to have thaanas, FIR, challan registration authorities
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed Rangers’ report about the granting of more authorities and suggested the Sindh government to take the matter to the apex committee, reported Dunya News.
Remarks given by the Supreme Court stated that the Rangers should make demands that are within the limits of the law.
The Rangers’ lawyer filed another application regarding an increase in their powers.
The application states that powers should be granted to the Rangers on annual basis. Furthermore, it has been added in the application that not granting authorities such as thaana, First Information Report (FIR) and challan registeration cannot ensure peace and stability in Karachi.
