Sluggish development spending observed by provinces: report
The provinces were due to spend Rs 377 billion in first half but Rs 155 billion are still unused.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Provinces are showing laziness while utilizing money reserved for development projects as Rs 155 billion in first half of the approved budget is still unused, reported on Wednesday.
According to the report issued by finance ministry regarding expenses of development projects, it was stated that Rs 222 billion has been used on the projects so far while the total budget reserved was Rs 815 billion.
The provinces were due to spend Rs 377 billion in first half but Rs 155 billion are still unused.
As per report, Balochistan has not consumed Rs 18.41 billion while Sindh has not used Rs 77 billion.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) didn’t spend Rs 16 billion whereas Punjab has failed to utilize Rs 42 billion despite launching various development projects.
