Summary CII Chairman stated that recommendations regarding the Bill will be written to Punjab govt
LAHORE (Dunya News) – While addressing to the media during the ceremony on Global forum on Islamic finance on Tuesday, Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Maulana Mohammad Khan Sherani stated that the council did not object to any clause(s) of the Women Protection Bill in particular instead it rejected the Bill completely, reported Dunya News.
He further added that the Bill is a replication of the laws enforced in the West. He said that the council is writing to the Punjab government that it should constitute a new bill in accordance with the Article 35 of the constitution and then send it to the Islamic council for reviewing.
Article 35 of the constitution offers protection to the family structure and as far as rest of the crimes are concerned, laws catering them are already there, said Shernai.
